In the runup to the missile crisis, Kennedy had also had a spectacular fail earlier with the abortive Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba, which fell apart in the early hours. They tried to engeineer 4 Dem majority districts. By spreading the Dems out enought to give each one a 55% Dem tilt. So, no strong safe districts.
Now the electorate has moved more than 5% against them in Oregon. Ooops.
The Democrats are having to defend a lot of stuff in Oregon, formerly a very safe Blue State.

I respectfully disagree. There may be conflicts in the future but they do not necessarily portend armageddon or the second coming. All of the events you mention are interpretations of scripture made by men and are subject to being incorrect as no one can know when the second coming will occur. Many have believed that we are are in the end of days for years and it has not come to pass.
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.2 Peter 1:20-21.
The Holy Spirit witnesses to our spirit about whether what is said is of God.

Also, we have conflicts all the time. But a nuclear holocaust is not just another “conflict”.
For the reasons mentioned I don’t think we’ll see a nuclear war before Daniel’s 70th Week AKA the seven year tribulation. A nuclear holocaust will probably kill multiple billions of people - exactly what Revelation 6:8 says about 1/4 of the world being killed.
