High school football coach Joe Kennedy was given a significant victory from the Supreme Court earlier this year after the court found Bremerton School District’s decision to fire Coach Kennedy for praying on the field unconstitutional.
The court ruled in Kennedy’s favor 6-3 shortly after Roe v. Wade was overturned.

it should be 9-0
Why would Joe want to go back to work for such a bunch of lowlifes that the school must have?
Does he get all of his back pay????
Yes, and maybe he has a home and ties to the community, and new jobs aren’t always easy to find.
Excellent and fair.
And that has to do with this man's religious freedom how?
It shows the court is inclined to follow, perhaps, restore, the Constitutional order.
Tells you much about just how evil the 3 are.
I was making fun of the media for even bringing it up.
To pay his bills? Bidenflation is brutal on family budgets.
Many people are very literal, though.
Agreed. As it is, the administration gets to choke on it every time the coach (or a player) prays on the field.
That said, I think this coach needs to be a bit careful. Those in charge will be looking for any reason to fire him again. Always have another witness when interacting with the players and staff. It's the world we live in now.
Coach Joe is a retired Marine. Doesn’t actually need the job but loves coaching (semper fi). He kept his house on the peninsula while he went to Florida to help care for his Dad. As to the lowlifes: the original school board that caused the problem are all long gone-—apparently saw the recall train light coming. The only ahole left is the original superintendent whose career will be short.
Moving back from Florida takes time but Coach Joe will be back in time for spring ball. That community is full of retired vets as well as active. Joe will get all the help he needs.
I would probably be considering getting a different job, after the next football season.
And when meeting with female students, have another person in the room-someone you trust completely, and leave the door open.
I was warned about a couple of female students when I was teaching. I made sure my office door was wide open AND
a colleague who I trusted was in his nextdoor office and his door was wide open. Never had any problems-I was probably too old, too bald, and had bad knees.
Yes!!!
I agree, it should have been unanimous, but you take what you can get.
One of the lower level problems is that we pay no attention to our local judicial “races,” because they’re not really “races.” That is, the judges don’t campaign or do anything, but just get reelected - or not.
This may not be true everywhere, although I saw it in the other major places I lived, NY and CA.
Now I live in Florida, where our judges are elected at a county level. I usually just vote the recommendations from my party unless I’ve seen something else in the local press about them.
But of course the local press has now virtually disappeared, and the on-line things are just brief bulletins with little supporting info. So it’s hard to know.
But the lower judgeships are also very important positions.
No kidding! The Constitution couldn't be plainer.
Democrats and the Left have a problem with the 1st amendment. It's no wonder Twitter was such as s**tshow—all the bosses were grifting foreigners with no respect for the U.S. Constitution.
-—coach needs to be careful——: Well, yeah, but as it turns out the school district didn’t actually start the field/praying problem. The original complaint came from a yardbird at PSNS whose son played ball at Silverdale. The yardbird’s life has taken a turn since no one at PSNS cares much for dickheads. Their mission is to keep our fleet floating, not act as social police, and I expect management doesn’t much care for publicity that takes away from the effort. That’s an old rule.
The check that the Bremerton SD is going to have to write is going to keep that bunch honest for a really long time.
Thanks to the great John Roberts.
