Former President Donald Trump filed an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court Monday asking the nine justices to prevent the House Ways and Means Committee from seeing his tax returns.
In the 38-page filing, Trump attorney Cameron Norris asked the high court to stay a DC Circuit Court of Appeals ruling from August which found the committee’s request for the 45th president’s returns between 2013 and 2018 to be justified.
“Left unreviewed, the D.C. Circuit’s decision will have far-reaching implications,” Norris wrote. “It will establish important (but incorrect) precedent for the political branches moving forward, binding in the circuit in which most conflicts over congressional demands for information must be litigated.”

The government already has his tax records. That should be good enough.
As if the democrats don’t already have them. They just want to legally give them to the press. These democrats are just evil.
Once again we are witnessing the utter corruption of the legal system. It used to be that a crime was found out, and the investigation began to determine just what happened and who might have been involved. With the democRATS, they target an individual and bring unlimited resources to make sure they ‘find’ a crime.

No doubt in my mind.
I think they’ll hear it AND they’ll preserve all past and future presidents from having their tax returns made public.
The joint committee has access to his returns. The fact this s committee does not is important as they dont have a legal reason to have them.
They have no business doing this.
What has this to do with January 6th.
This is a witch hunt.
Frankly, I wish the members of this panel would be indicted,
convicted, and spend decades in prison.

If this is upheld, payback should be swift as the new Congress demands the full tax returns of Bidet going back ten years as well.
If the Court approves the disclosure of tax records for Trump, it follows that it will approve disclosure of the Clintons, Obamas, Bushes and Bidens.
My bet is that they will preserve confidentiality for Trump, and thus all the rest.
I hope that SCOTUS grants his request. It’s obvious they are going after Trump’s tax returns in order to pick and choose information they can use against him.
If they want to simply review previous Presidents’ tax returns in order to make sure no favors are being done, or to make sure the IRS is acting fairly across the board, then reviewing Obama’s and George Bush’s returns (from a time removed from current events) would be more logical.
