The war will end.
RE: Russia gets to keep Crimea. Ukraine pledges to remain neutral. Russia withdraws troops from occupied territories of Ukraine (not Crimea).
So, what happens to the Donbas regions?
What you’re describing is essentially the status quo BEFORE Russia invaded last February.
that would be what they all agreed upon in 2014 and signed documents.
Not joining NATO is an easy concession, but I seriously doubt they would accept any treaty that prevents them from establishing military alliances with other nations. That would essentially be giving up their sovereignty, and invite another invasion down the road. I expect they will receive significant security guaranties from the west for a period while they rearm and establish alliances.
That ship sailed in February. What are you guys smoking?
Except that it won't. Comrade Putin wants the whole hog and more.
kissinger already proposed a deal...
Ukraine was just invaded by Russia. Some large percentage of its population has been killed and its infrastructure destroyed. How could it ever be neutral with regards to its obvious enemy?
Neutrality was a reasonable request in February, but it seems a bit silly now.
The first thing Henry said when he rolled up to the mic (at WEF, no less) was "The dividing line should be a return to the status quo ante."
The discussion here at the time, was how disappointed the Putlims were! "Waaah, Kissinger wants Putlim to withdraw back to the existing borders." LOFL.
