Former President Trump in an Election Day interview said that if the candidates he has endorsed win their races in the midterms, then he should get “all of the credit,” although he believes he will see “very little.”
When asked how much he believes candidates’ victories or losses should be credited to him, Trump told NewsNation’s Markie Martin, “Well, I think if they win, I should get all the credit, and if they lose, I should not be blamed at all. OK, but it’ll probably be just the opposite.

Sounds like a joke that Trump has made several times in different contexts, though I’m sure he also does believe (and rightfully so) that he deserves a lot of credit for the “red wave” and for the fact that MAGA wouldn’t exist without him.
No kidding. I would not be taking away the hard work that many candidates have put in and demeaning their fortitude during the attacks they have endured.

If he did deliver a Big Punch, why not acknowledge it. Obviously he could be more modest, but hey, this really gets the LEFT upset, and we like that.
The “post Trump” clowns wouldn’t have done half as well as Trump has done. He can blow his own horn.
You might be right. Sometimes Trump is talking and kind of half kidding and smiling and just being relaxed and funny. Hopefully that is the context. The media will pounce on a joke or just a passing funny comment and make it sound like he’s bitter or angry or something.

I don’t believe he would have said something foolish like this.
That’s the quote of someone incredibly insecure, likely his words were twisted.
That’s just the behavior that his voters on the edge most don’t like. His base is already well aware of it anyway.
