In Alaska Tshibaka beat Murkowski, which won't register as a GOP Senate pick-up....but it is!
No she did not beat Murkowski, nor will she unless a miracle occurs (which is just a nice way of saying, it ain't happening).
The reason is officially called "Ranked Choice Voting" though I have a slightly different name for it:
Rigged Choice Voting in Alaska
A candidate needs to get to 50% to win. Tshibaka has no realistic path to 50%; the old hag will win easily on the "third ballot" once the Democrat (Chesboro) is eliminated, unless a ton of Chesboro voters put Tshibaka instead of Murkowski as their second choice, which makes no sense for them to do.
Yes, that’s great.
More positive news,...
Sarah Huckabee Sanders is Governor of Arkansas.
J.D. Vance is US Senator from Ohio.
“In Alaska Tshibaka beat Murkowski“
Nope, not yet. Because of Ranked Murk has a better than even chance of winning despite getting fewer votes.
“In Alaska Tshibaka beat Murkowski, which won’t register as a GOP Senate pick-up....but it is!”
Tshibaka didn’t win, she had to get to 50%, she was close last night bu is now only at 44%.
Alaska has ranked choice voting (stupid). Since neither Tshibaka or Murkowski didn’t get 50%, they will drop the Democrat (Chesboro) and recount. Chesboro has 10% of the vote - most of those ppl probably have Murkowski as their #2. Sadly, it is likely Murkowski is going to win.
having her gone is a huge positive
Thanks for that! Fish-mouth is gone!
Good news bump!
Did Murkowski concede yet? She’s like a virus that won’t leave
