Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), who is expected to become chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee next year, said he blames Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) for what he sees as lowered credibility of congressional probes.
Schiff chairs the House Intelligence Committee and sits on the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol — and the California lawmaker also led the first impeachment effort against former President Trump.

He’s right - just like the DOJ/FBI are quickly destroying any pretense of justice in Federal law enforcement. Its now merely about who has the power.

Well, even before Schiff, “Congressional probes” have mostly been dog & pony shows for decades. What is the last one that resulted in actual tangible changes being made? The Church Committee?

So what? They can’t arrest him and while there is a slim chance they could impeach him, they can’t convict.
I suppose they could drag all the dirt out into the public eye and hope that tilts the 2024 election. That’s probably the best we could hope for.
It’s hard for me to picture any modern politician getting rid of any alphabet agency or even reducing their budgets in the era of the 24 news cycle and media disaster porn. Our dumb screen culture society has become conditioned to be 100% risk adverse. No one wants to be the pol who cut the security budget and is then invariably blamed when something terrible happens...or is allowed to happen.

Pubbies have been running congressional investigations/hearings for decades: Graham, Grassley, Paul, Jordan, et al.
The sad thing is that they hardly ever result in much.

Comer is right. Schiff and the RATS have wrecked the credibility of congressional investigations along with wrecking impeachment among other things they've wrecked. And it's all part of the plan of the left to undermine the credibility of every institution from politics to sports to healthcare. The more credibility they can remove from institutions, the easier to replace them because people see them as ineffectual, useless, dated, insignificant, and so on and so forth, and want something different.
Take elections. The left undermined the credibility of elections first with provisional ballots while railing against ID checks as racist. Then they moved on to ballot harvesting and blind mail-in balloting along with agitating for ranked choice voting. On top of that, they've been attacking the Electoral College, the Supreme Court including threatening to pack it, and the filibuster while spouting everywhere democracy and especially Our Democracy.
Pretty clear they're pushing toward simple majority rule across the board and they have millions buying into it who also buy into restricting speech, self-defense, and other natural rights we were founded on. The left knows that simple majorities can trample minorities they don't like, but they also know the dopes who are buying into what they're saying, don't know or care. By the time they do figure it out, it will be too late.

I hope Congress doesn’t waste a bunch of time on investigations that will accomplish nothing and are for political show. I’ve told my Congress people what I want them working on but I doubt they care what one person wants.
Subpeona Biden’s daughter’s diary and have a look at it. That is probably the only thing that could take him down, or some kind of illegal information given to the Chinese for cash. Other than that, he can get away with almost anything.
