Trump Goes Scorched Earth on Biden's 'Unpatriotic Embarrassment,' Abandoning Marine Veteran

Former President Donald Trump ripped into President Joe Biden on Thursday for the prisoner swap with Russia that left former Marine Paul Whelan behind.

The Biden administration announced that WNBA basketball star Brittney Griner would be released from Russia in exchange for Viktor Bout, a Russian arms dealer.

“What kind of a deal is it to swap Brittney Griner, a basketball player who openly hates our Country, for the man known as ‘The Merchant of Death,’ who is one of the biggest arms dealers anywhere in the World, and responsible for tens of thousands of deaths and horrific injuries,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Griner, who plays for the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, was among the athletes who objected to the national anthem being played before games, according to the Arizona Republic.

As for Bout, he was convicted in 2011 of trying to kill American citizens through arms deals that included working with Al-Qaida and the Taliban, The New York Times reported.

Trump said the deal leaves behind an American who should have been released — Whelan.

“Why wasn’t former Marine Paul Whelan included in this totally one-sided transaction? He would have been let out for the asking. What a ‘stupid’ and unpatriotic embarrassment for the USA!!!” Trump wrote.

Whelan, who worked in corporate security after leaving the Marine Corps, was arrested in Russia in December 2018. In June 2020, he was convicted on espionage charges, which American officials have said were false and politically motivated, according to The New York Times.

Whelan told CNN he was “greatly disappointed that more has

Well, for starters, as an honorably discharged Marine I am a “former Marine”. Whelan was dishonorably discharged so he’s an EX-Marine. A pos that other Marines would maybe pi$$ on if he was on fire, and that’s it.

Secondly, Whelan’s family could be a bunch of commies but it doesn’t matter. What they say against DJT in the mass media matters. If I’m not mistaken Trump is campaigning to be President again and he’s already off to a great start with the whole Kanye dinner disaster and here we have yet another faux pas that the media will latch onto and use against him, swaying what little sway we have with independents.

This gives leftists a great comeback and talking point, yet again.

"This" what? The headline?

Complain to the headline writer. The comment, whether Trump said it or whether Mickey Mouse said it, is perfectly appropriate.

‘He was good enough to get trained, wear the uniform.....
He had the initive, and you promote the leftist spin? +??”

What is spin is not mentioning his BCD, bad conduct discharge, and why he got it

You know what would’ve been an amazing post or statement by Trump?

How about comparing this trade to the Bergdhal trade? We could ride that comparison forever.

According to Wikipedia, The Marine Corps thought so highly of his service they court martial him and gave him a bad conduct discharge. He was convicted on multiple counts “related to larceny”.

Read a news article on MSN.com...

The Political Left is already punching back hard.

Apparently, Trump refused to trade The Merchant of Death for Whelen, the imprisoned American Marine.

One of the networks interviewed Pence and jumped all over him for refusing that deal, and because Trump criticized Biden for the terms of the current trade.

There is a lot more to the story that folks aren’t hearing.

I am no fan of griner; to coin a phrase: She acted stupidly.

But the halo they are painting on the guy is just as suspect as Biden’s act. It all goes to show that the entire drama is “button pushing” from both sides. The folks at FR these days react very quickly and ferociously when their buttons are pushed.

Less than five minutes of research will usually give you a sense of what’s going on.

This was not the worst prisoner exchange worked up by a Democrat Socialist regime sitting in the White House.

The swap of Bowe Bergdahl, who deserted his post and tried to defect to the Taliban, for FIVE Taliban fighters being held in Guantanamo, initiated by the Obama regime, was even more lopsided than the trade of Brittney Griner for the “Merchant of Death”.

Definitely a “lose-lose” for the US and the world.

But it really got the Taliban fired up, finally grabbing the big prize at Bagram Air Base.

It was then the world knew just how pusillanimous and hesitant the Joe Stolen/”Que mala’ Harris regime. The flood gates were open and America was fair game.

Walen overdrafted his bank account and bounced 2 checks. That was his crime.

“Court records provided by the Marine Corps headquarters show that he had been accused of attempting to steal more than $10,000 while serving as an administrative clerk in Iraq in 2006. The records show he was also accused of using a false Social Security number on a government computer system and using a false account on the system to grade his own examinations.”

He would have been let out for the asking

In that case I wonder why Trump didn't ask when he was president.

So I guess it wasn’t just for the asking after all.

It was for the asking because Trump already knew they wanted the arms dealer.

President Retard could have easily gotten both or should have taken neither is the point

Instead he screwed it all up just like he always does

I’m wondering why nobody has just asked the Russians, point blank, “Does this person have a penis?”. I wonder what they would say.
