Former President Donald Trump was banned from Twitter the day after former First Lady Michelle Obama and others demanded the company "permanently" remove him, according to the newest "Twitter Files" installment.
On Saturday, CEO Elon Musk and journalist Michael Shellenberger released the fourth batch of Twitter documents that show internal communications by the company’s executives between Jan. 6-8, 2021, including and shortly after the riot at the Capitol Building.
Among the files, Shellenberger reported "internal and external pressure," including from the former first lady, fell onto the company calling for Trump to be banned from using Twitter.
"Now is the time for Silicon Valley companies to stop enabling this monstrous behavior - and go even further than they have already by permanently banning this man from their platforms and putting in place policies to prevent their technologies from being used by the nation’s leaders to fuel insurrection," Obama wrote in a lengthy statement posted to Twitter on Jan. 7.
She added: "And if we have any hope of improving this nation, now is the time for swift and serious consequences for the failure of leadership that led to yesterday’s shame."
In addition to the former first lady, the Anti-Defamation League, among several other prominent people and organizations called for Trump's ban.

Doesn’t anyone remember that, IIRC, Jan. 7/8, 2021 Michelle Obama went on social media and made a long and direct statement about how Trump should not be allowed to have the outlet to speak, etc. At the time I read it I believed she already had some sort of agreement with the tech companies abd that thry were taking orders from her. I believed at the time, that her public statement about Trump was really directed to the tech companies giving them the go-ahead to pull the plug on Trump. With in the day, if not hours, Twitter, et al shut down Trumps Twitter account.

Twitter was threatened by DOJ with prosecution if they did t coordinated. Ideologically they were fine going after conservatives. But the legal ramifications of “spreading disinformation” was used to justify the election interference.
I reread the article above and I think that is the same thing I read, obviously on Jan. 7. I believed then abd now that they had a previous agreement and Michelle was giving instructions to shut Trump down.
The Obamas think the bucks they have accumulated while in public office insulate them from the consequences of their actions. They are haughty. They never had much to begin with, so what they have now looks and feels like a lot to them. However, what they fail to take into account is their riches, relatively speaking, are mere pocket change to people like Elon Musk.
