I’m within days of sending water through a shower like that.
Mine has a small generator (alternator?) that is spun by water flow.
You can’t even find them in stores anymore.
Because they were absolute crap. No one wanted them the government forces them on people.
Absolute crap product by any measure
I basically did the same. Went out and bought up a bunch of incandescent bulbs. However, LEDs reached the point where they’ve virtually surpassed them. They equal the light power, less heat and much longer lasting now. I’ve replaced every bulb in my home with LEDs. The incandescents? Well, I guess if there ever was a massive EMP burst, they’d be worth something, IF there were any power generation sources left.
Wholly agree. Some lobby somewhere bought off a whole lotta politicians.
GE and other bulb manufacturers bought them off. Bigger margins so paid Congress to basically make incandescents illegal. Wild to watch and industry pay the government to obsolete their own product to make more money.
They did the same thing with freon for ACs
I guess I did that unaware...
I have nothing against them if they work. I’ve had one that has worked well, and one that was a complete dud.
CFLs are a very close parallel to electric cars.
A impractical solution forced into the public.
Why is USGovt in the middle of dictating light bulb use? Or any product beyond challenging safety risks?
I have a big box of incandescents, too. I’ve found some LEDs that I like for some purposes, but I generally prefer the light of the old bulbs.
Cool. The guy I saw that installed that is known as "Stud Pack" on YouTube. The bathroom he built for a friend would pay for a house in some neighborhoods.
Thanks for trying to help. No, it flickers when they are off mostly so not connected to the W/D apparently. If I can get it out of the ceiling I’ll try to replace it.
Solution? Move to Texas. Hell will freeze over before we see -30 deg. F. Temp.
I use Feit too. (I sold them when I was in the wholesale hardware business, before LED lighting.) Buy them by the 2 dozen pack. Still have problems with them.
When I first moved ito this farm house that was built in the 70’s, the lights would blink almost every time something else was turned on.
I was 286 feet from the powerline along the road. The electric company was replacing old poles in the area and I had one halfway between house and road.
They noticed the gauge of the wire was smaller than was current code and was going to replace it. I got them to place it underground instead.
It made a world of difference in the household power. No more blinky lights!
