It’s hard to consider anything from that source, regardless. I’m surprised conservatives use them as a reference tool.

Prior to the US occupation, under the Taliban regime, but yes, these were remnants of the previous Hindu-Buddhist civilization of the region.

We wondered what devestated India. Similar to what is happening in the West today.

“Thus the destruction of the Twin Buddha’s during the Iraq War period under US Occupation.... Humm?”

Your one sentence is so full of error and slander it takes several paragraphs to correct.

-The destruction of the Buddhas of Bamiya occured in Afghanistan in 2001, pre-Iraq invasion of 2003.

-It was done by the Pushtan (Deobandi Islamic fundamentalist) Taliban, not by Iraqi Sunni Saddamists.

“The tragic destruction of the Buddhas of Bamiyan in March 2001, which was broadcast across the globe, led to a global recognition of the need to protect cultural heritage at risk.”

The basic facts are as stated and 80 million is actually the lowest estimate I’ve ever heard. Majored in Middle Eastern History many moons ago and traveled South Asia and the ME on business for a few decades. The brutality of Muslim conquest and rule (”islam” is the imperative form of the verb “aslama”, meaning “to submit” ... think about it) is no myth.

Islam’s “Golden Age” ended when their expansion-by-conquest did.

Without a steady influx of slaves who knew how to run a civilization, Islamic societies went downhill until some discovered a new source of unearned wealth: oil.

The Hindu Kush mountains separate South Asia from Afghanistan. These are the mountains that make India a relatively isolated zone and it is through its mountain passes that various migrants and invaders came into the Indian subcontinent, shaping its history dramatically.
The name Hindu Kush is commonly translated as ‘the killer of Hindus’. The traveller Ibn Battuta, who lived in the 14th century, claimed that this is the mountain where millions of Hindus were killed. These Hindus, who were slaves, were being taken to be sold in Afghanistan and beyond.

The common denominator is that they are just ideologies but wielded by governments to justify their brutality.

~~~~~
...and yet, the rules and governments die. The ideology doesn’t. Who wields who?
Muslim imperialism, Muslim ethnic cleansing, Muslim genocide. These are realities, past and present, that go unmentioned by our systems of mass indoctrination (T.V., movies, mainstream news, documentaries, academia, the pulpit).
As mentioned before, communism and Islam fuse their ideologies with the power of the state.
Neither Islam, nor communism contain significant elements of self-restraint. For example, there is no commandment against murder in atheist communism. I gather that Islam contains the New and Old Testament in some form, but they are much less important that the words and actions of Mohammed. Mohammed beheaded more than 300 Jews, etc.
Both Islam and communism devalue Truth, each in their own way. Islam teaches that it is all right to lie to infidels. Marxism teaches that advancing the cause represents a higher morality than telling the truth. Marxism also teaches that there are multiple truths, and that truth is relative.
The New Testament contains a lot of emphasis on Truth. I assume the same applies to the Old Testament. Christ said, give onto Caesar that which is Caesar’s; and give unto God that which is God’s. This constraint is always there in Christianity, even if it has not always been binding on secular and religious powers.
They used the same tactics then as today when they were weak the called the Hindus “people of the book” until they were strong enough in population and military power and they change to calling the Hindu people pagans and slaughtered them. Muslim fatwas are so much fun. the British takeover of India and surrounding areas leveled the old Muslim and Hindi kingdoms into one nation. I cannot say the British were saints but they did unify India into one political entity and set a path for Indians to become more in control of their lives .
I view the success of Islam as the most effective public health effort ever launched over 1400 years. The basic rules of Islam include praying 5 times a day and washing hands before prayer, using the left hand for toilet matters, and the right hand for eating in the communal pot. Dietary rules have also had a favorable effect, forbidding certain foods that spoil easily at high temperatures and scarce water and fuel for long cooking. These dietary rules have also helped save Jewish populations.
Especially before the concept of germs was known and defended against, a culture/religion that ritualized healthy behaviors would have a better chance of surviving.
You’re right, except that, being 20% Sephardic Jew myself, I’ve done a little research independent of Wikipedia on the subject.
The Mohammedan Conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precarious thing, whose delicate complex of order and liberty, culture and peace may at any time be overthrown by barbarians invading from without or multiplying within. The Hindus ... had failed to organize their forces for the protection of their frontiers and their capitals, their wealth and their freedom, from the hordes of Scythians, Huns, Afghans, and Turks hovering about India's boundaries and waiting for national weakness to let them in. For four hundred years (600-1000 A.D.) India invited conquest; and at last it came.
I came to the same conclusion about Wikipedia. Don’t forget conservapedia:
