The Special Session is the single opportunity for the Congress to consider, debate, accept or reject (but not overturn!!) federal election irregularities.
Raising the threshold calls of objection from 1 member of each chamber to 1/5th of each chamber in order to formally consider as a body any such irregularities would seem to make it more difficult to even begin to deliberate the matter.
RP didn’t object in 2020. What did we exploit? He also voted against Trump’s wall.
The January 6th certification of the presidential election results is NOT the proper place to consider, debate, etc. any election irregularities -- except (maybe) in cases where multiple slates of electors are submitted for any states.
The time to fix any election problems is BEFORE the electoral votes are certified in mid-December, not afterward.
