The State Department awarded a $30,000 grant to an organization that promotes the transgender ideology in the mostly Muslim nation of Kyrgyzstan.

The grant from the State Department, which was given to an organization called Kyrgyz Indigo, was intended to “prevent gender-based violence against the transgender community and increase acceptance through sensitivity and advocacy trainings, and media campaigns.”

Kyrgyz Indigo calls itself the “largest LGBT+ human rights and advocacy organization in Central Asia” and partners with organizations like Amnesty International and George Soros’s Open Society Foundation.

The Brandon Administration has gone from saving the whales, snail darters, spotted owls, wolves and penguins to saving the lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trannies and queers. They’re always using OUR money to save something.

"The Ugly American" (1959) in real life. Some things never change and the USA government never learns.

Wiki-->

"The authors were disillusioned with the style and substance of U.S. diplomatic efforts in Southeast Asia. They sought to demonstrate through their writings their belief that American officials and civilians could make a substantial difference in Southeast Asian politics if they were willing to learn local languages, follow local customs and employ regional military tactics...The book depicts the failures of the U.S. diplomatic corps, whose insensitivity to local language, culture, and customs and refusal to integrate were in marked contrast to the polished abilities of Eastern Bloc (primarily Soviet) diplomacy and led to Communist diplomatic success overseas."
I read the book about 40 years ago and it was excellent.

Especially in Vietnam, with favoring Catholic South Vietnamese politicians, even though the country was primarily Buddhist. Yeah, real good way to ‘win hearts and minds’. /s

Yes. Vietnam in the late 50s served as the archetype for the book: “The novel takes place in a fictional nation called Sarkhan (an imaginary country in Southeast Asia that somewhat resembles Burma or Thailand, but which is meant to allude to Vietnam)”

This is not “foreign policy” AT ALL!!!!!

This is a single “woke” political stream in the U.S. gaining it’s own foreign political advancement via the federal government.

Technically speaking, cultural imperialism is a foreign policy. It may not be a wise one though.

“It may not be a wise one though.”

There is a difference between cultural “imperialism” and otherwise promoting standards of international behavior and leading by example. We can promote what we think collectively is best about our Republic, leading by example, but that is never in the details of specific social movements, such as the socalled “LGBT” agenda. That movement is far, far, far less about “rights” than it is about demanding “social recognition” by group identity which says absolutley zip about personal character, and the use of group identity promotion is in fact to promote persons REGARDLESS OF their personal character. Black Democrats are promoted BECAUSE they are black, regardless of their character. Most black Conservatives stand out because of their character regardless of being black. The same analogy is true for the few “gay” Conservative/Libertarians who served Trump in major appointed positions, NOT “because” they were “gay” but irrespective of that fact.

To promote transgenderism has zero to do about “promoting” America and is not “cultural imperialism” as much as it is merely political imperialism on behalf of a single minor political narrative, not on behalf of “the country”. Such agendas that won’t to be promoted should be done on their own, privately and socially, not via the government.

Can you imagine the outcry if the American Christian evangelical movement was being promoted by the state department, and it is cdrtainly a far larger cultural movement than transgenderism. The entire U.S. Left and 100% of their media would be up in arms.

Of course, because Evangelicalism is the culture of Proles, not the ruling class.
