But I’m sure you were all disappointed to find that neither was “anatomically correct” when you decided to change their outfits.
At some point, kids figure out that adults are messing with them. It’s usually around the time when they figure out that Santa isn’t real. I remember being happy and proud when I realized there was no Santa. It was like I took another step toward being a grownup. I knew I would still get presents either way, so no harm, no foul.

The earliest Ken dolls had flocked hair. The fuzz easily rubbed off so he looked like he had mange, and his arms were always falling off :(
So yeah, GI Joe was way cooler!
