Putin Says Russia Ready to Negotiate Over Ukraine: "... We are not the ones refusing to negotiate, they are,"

MOSCOW — Russia is ready to negotiate with all parties involved in the war in Ukraine but Kyiv and its Western backers have refused to engage in talks, President Vladimir Putin said in an interview aired Sunday.

Russia's Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine has triggered the deadliest conflict in Europe since World War Two and the biggest confrontation between Moscow and the West since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

There is, thus far, little end in sight to the war.

The Kremlin says it will fight until all its aims are achieved while Kyiv says it will not rest until every Russian soldier is ejected from all its territory, including Crimea which Russia annexed in 2014.

"We are ready to negotiate with everyone involved about acceptable solutions, but that is up to them — we are not the ones refusing to negotiate, they are," Putin told Rossiya 1 state television in the interview.

CIA Director William Burns said in an interview published this month that while most conflicts end in negotiation, the CIA's assessment was that Russia was not yet serious about a real negotiation to end the war.

An adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Putin needed to return to reality and acknowledge that it was Russia which did not want any negotiations.

"Russia single-handedly attacked Ukraine and is killing citizens," Mykhailo Podolyak said on Twitter. "Russia doesn’t want negotiations but tries to avoid responsibility."

Putin said Russia was acting in the "right direction" in Ukraine because the West, led by the United States, was trying to cleave Russia apart. Washington denies it is plotting Russia's collapse.

"I believe that we are acting in the right direction, we are defending our national interests, the interests of our citizens, our people. And we have no other choice but to protect our citizens," Putin said.

Russia’s idea of negotiation is you agree with their terms, or you are negotiating in bad faith.

The Ukrainians should open the negotiations with a demand for two trillion dollars reparations, withdrawal of all Russian forces to pre-1992 borders, complete verifiable Russian nuclear disarmament, and the imprisonment for life of Putin. I am sure that there is middle ground that they can agree with the Russians on.

Let’s say that the U.S. invaded anglophone Canada to “save” anglophones from [further] francophone oppression. How much of it do you think would be “fair” for us to keep? (Try that on canuck_liberal’s.)

Russia is only open to negotiations because they’re losing the war and they want to try to keep what they tried to steal.

Somehow I don’t see that happening.

1. Russia has proven that they can’t be trusted.
2. Russia is a habitual liar.
3. You never let thieves keep what they tried to steal.

Western media if you prefer, the gravity of Vlad’s deenergizing attacks, Vlad is showing restraint as it will take at least a year ( if halted today) to get the lights back on. He is fully able to put the lights completely out ….a pause for the West to rethink their war, war, war agenda?

The Ukraine is throwing the last of its soldiers into the woodchipper in a losing war against Russia. Russia has lost many soldiers too, but for each Russian Trooper lost, the Ukraine loses many.

Russia believed in the Minsk agreements.  Angela Merkel recently admitted they only made the Minsk agreements in order to buy time to build an army in the Ukraine. Putin said that he was disappointed, and trust was damaged. The Ukraine, and Merkel, and NATO, and now the US, are habitual liars, so if you think Russia is one too, then they are all liars.

The US would, when it had a patriotic president, stop China from building biowarfare labs and amassing troops on our southern border. Russia did so with the Crimea.

The MSM really 'owns' so many people to the point where the Neo Nazi Ukraine military is praised for valor; this is bizarre.

Here's what's going to happen. The puppet masters in NATO who are running this proxy war are going to replace Zelenksy with his current head of the military, who sees the need to negotiate peace as billions of people in the Ukraine are displaced due to lack of power and other basic needs and they don't have the hardware to prevail against Russia.

The recent article in FORBES revealed the thinking of the head of the Ukraine's military; he said that he needed WWII level support (number of bullets fired in that war etc.) and a long list of military hardware and that he knew he would not get it.  Zelensky won't surrender, even as he sends the last of his trained soldiers to die under equipped in this pointless war to protect the Deep State's Ukrainian hub. So the military general will replace him and negotiate peace.

Support for Zelensky/Ukraine is support for Biden/Deep State

dude, “the West” didn’t invade anybody

so who’s got the real “war, war, war” agenda? Maybe the clown who illegally invaded a sovereign country 10 months ago, huh?

Ukraine came to the table in April and May of last year to negotiate an end to the conflict. The UK scuttled it.

This proxy war with Russia will end badly...for Ukraine.

Russia started the war.
Russia is losing the war they started.
Russia gets weaker every day.
China is waiting.

Exactly. Zelensky doesn’t want peace; he wants more money.

I truly feel for the innocent people who have lost loved ones, been injured, lost their homes and are living in miserable conditions because of this narcissistic, corrupt slimebag. He doesn’t care one bit about the Ukrainian people.
