Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes attempted to flee the US shortly after her conviction on fraud charges last year, prosecutors claim.
According to a new court filing, the 38-year-old bought a one-way ticket to Mexico last January.
"Only after the government raised this unauthorised flight... was the trip cancelled," prosecutors said.
Holmes was convicted for defrauding investors in her blood testing start-up that was once valued at $9bn (£7.5bn).

If you or me gets convicted, if some gang kid gets caught with dope... when they are sentenced, the grab them by the arms in court and you are hauled away right then.
Rich corporate turds are granted 5 months to get their affairs in order and to get a little pre-prison vacay.
There is no equal justice in this nation.

if this was state court or she was poor she’d have been jailed immediately at sentencing, if not sooner.

That’s weird, when you can walk or drive into Mexico without anyone from the US paying attention (at least it was that way in the past). So why put out all your data to get an air ticket, and then why one way?
