I’d love to kill the pedos, but I dont trust our government. They love to frame the innocent often.

Look at J6.

Look at what they did to Richard Jewel.

Anthony Kennedy killed that penalty years ago in one of his most shameful decisions.

Let Florida condemn a child-rapist to the death chamber and SCOTUS may be inclined to revisit this decision.

I believe that for anyone sentenced to death, there needs to be a great deal of physical evidence used in their conviction. We've sentenced people to die on convictions secured by circumstantial evidence alone and I truly believe that in our history, we've executed innocent people.

There needs to be a high bar. I believe in the death penalty but I can see few greater crimes perpetrated by the state than the execution of an innocent man.

Over two decades working with the Florida Child Protection Teams has me convinced there are crimes that deserve death.
But the conservative in me has too little faith in government to expect it to be capable of administering that power justly.

That’s an incentive to kill the victim.

I’d agree with castration but taking the life is a step too far. I’d also say execution should be limited to when there’s “no doubt” - so beyond “no reasonable doubt”. Having an innocent person executed due to circumstances that “appear to be beyond reasonable doubt” introduces a subjective standard that I can’t accept.

So this is two steps too far imho.

It’s a publicity stunt I like. It shows where his mind is on the issue.

I thought they already had this...

It’s called gen-pop.

(general population in prison)

Much more efficient.

<>Let Ron adjudicate<>

Fascinating. You want a governor to serve a judicial role over death row inmates.

My thought is, good! The recidivism rate after ten years is over 13%. Completely unacceptable.

You can have him. If he runs, I’m not voting.

That Shane Trejo hit piece is fake news, as I’ve proven to you several times on this forum with DeSantis’ own words.

Why do you continue to spread this garbage, even after you’ve been shown it’s not true?

Find some integrity.

What ridiculous tripe. Trump deserves the blame for J6 prisoners being in jail, not DeSantis. All DeSantis did was said the Antifa types needed to be arrested, which is correct. But Trump won’t even mention them, it’s as if they don’t even exist, because he knows it brings attention back to him calling for the protest to begin with, and not really doing anything to secure it.

A problem American cities are facing in the jury system is black racism, the trial itself doesn’t matter, a single, or several black jurors just will not convict the criminal, for “the man’s law”, “fight the system”.

DeSantis could start with anyone who molest a kid age 10 or below. No one should be doing anything to a kid of that age. Anyone doing that to a young child doesn’t deserve to breathe the same air as the rest of us.

Also the excuse that they would be more likely to murder the kid to hide the evidence was the same argument used for the California three strikes law. But after it was passed the murder rate didn’t increase.

I don't doubt it. But that is a political problem. Frankly, when cases go to trial, getting a guilty verdict is usually the least of issues.

It’s not an “excuse”, it is obvious logic. If the law calls for the death penalty for child rape, as a result children will be murdered to prevent them from testifying. Are you really eager to do the experiment?
