The Washington Post counted 1,096 people in the U.S. who were shot and killed by police in 2022.
In previous years, about as many people - around 1,000 annually - have died this way.

While the race of more than a third of those killed by police in 2022 is not known, 389 of the deceased were white, while 224 were Black.
This equals 52 percent and 30 percent, respectively, of those for whom a race is known. The share of Black people is elevated here, keeping in mind that only close to 14 percent of Americans belong to that race group.
Around 58 percent of those shot and killed by police carried a gun themselves.
But in the case of more than 180 people, they were either unarmed or it is unknown whether they carried a weapon. In 17 cases, the deceased had been seen with a replica weapon that was mistaken for the real thing.
Out of the 1,096 killed, 138 were listed as having shown signs of mental illness.
Fourteen percent of the population account for 21% of the killed-by-police deaths.

Of those, 12 on average were black males killed in the process of law enforcement serving an arrest warrant for a violent/armed felony most commonly murder or attempted murder.
That left an average of 8 unarmed black males killed per year by police for all other reasons including resisting arrest and domestic violence.
When folks are asked how many unarmed black people are killed ‘for no reason’ by cops- they respond with answers like “hundreds” or “1000’s”, and claim that there is ‘systemic racism running rampant in the police forces throughout the us- Yet,
on tucker awhile back he cited these stats when contradicting the ignorant claim by leftists that the police are ‘systematically racists’
in 2019, 13 unarmed black men were killed by cops- all but 2 were killed legitimately ie the perps were going for the cop’s gun, or were beating another officer to death etc-
in the 2 cases where the unarmed black men were killed unjustifiably, the cops were tried and convicted
that same year- 54 cops lost their lives- many by armed black people-
out of millions of arrests and encounters and domestic abuse cases and arrests- some 10 million per year average etc, to have just 2 unarmed black people killed unjustifiably shows tremendous restraint on the police officer’s account- And it is a far cry from the “1000’s of black people murdered by racists cops every year’ claim of the left-
There are more than 800,000 sworn law enforcement officers now serving in the United States. Around 137,000 of those officers work for federal law enforcement agencies.
NYPD has 36,000 and LAPD has 12,000.
So the total number of people are killed by an officer is not a high percentage (unless it happens to one of us or a family member).
And statistics include wild eyed killers who are about to murder hostages or their domestic partners unless they are killed by the police.

Too many police in the Boston area are trigger happy, their favorite kill targets are educated white people under 25 years old.

in the scheme of things, ~1000 killed out of 330m is exceedingly low.
that’s 1 in every 330,000 people.
for comparison, at least one dose of the vaxx was given to 200m Americans. of that, 1m+ were injured and 50k+ were killed (actual numbers are much higher).
that’s a 1 in 200 chance of getting injured or killed by the jab... and people are STILL lining up for it.
People of unknown race are disproportionately shot.
Maybe they should put their race on their t-shirt or something.

But the summary will note that blacks make up ~12% of the population and whites ~72%.
Then, conveniently, they’ll fail to mention where the majority of crime takes place and what the racial make up of those particular areas are.
Selective statistics can easily be used to make a particular point.
With today's technology, DNA and every other method of identification, how is it possible to not know the race of a third of victims that are killed by the police?
I don't believe it.
How can the race not be known?
I mean that’s the most important thing now right? Especially if you’re part of the favored group.
So this is ONLY killed by police GUNS?
So what about the few who might have been hit, or tased, or “strangled”?
Really all police-driven deaths should be included.
