Governor Chris Sununu (R-NH) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that it was not the government’s job to address cultural issues.
Anchor Dana Bash said, “I want to play something that you said in your inaugural address earlier this month.”
During his inaugural speech, Sununu said, “It’s not right to tell a private business what they can or cannot do. It is not the New Hampshire way to force locally elected and accountable school districts or town councils to bend to the statehouse’s will. That’s not leadership, and it’s not conservative, and it is certainly not freedom.”

Let’s see. The left throws rocks. The right must respond. Then one on ‘our’ side says BOTH sides need to tone it down. The result is DJT.

Contrast to Sanders, Youngkin, and DeSantis who are not afraid to hit these “cultural issues” head-on. Sanders just said that nobody in Arkansas government can use “Latinx.” She’s fighting back by not letting the communists take control of the language.
Not only is the government not the solution to cultural issues, it is the CAUSE most of them.
* God out of schools - check.
* Wipe out our borders - check.
* Stop merit immigration and open the country to uneducated third-worlders - check.
* Affirmative action - check.
* Local governments sponsoring trannies in libraries to indoctrinate kids - check. * Government schools teaching our kids they are racist - check.
* Government schools teaching our kids America is an evil country - check.
On and on and on and on. Pick any social pathology at all and you find it was CAUSED by the damn government.
Sununu is right. You cannot expect the thing that caused all this social breakdown and collapse to fix it.
Exactly. The Left has the exact opposite outlook. It relies on tax dollars to fund its social engineering efforts, no matter how offensive to actual taxpayers. Sununu must know that his position is akin to tying both hands behind his back during a [dirty] fight.
All they want is for government to promote business with tax dollars and debt.

And that’s just scratching the surface of the “social issues” that secularists want us to believe should be avoided when campaigning for office, or when governing after obtaining office. But the reality is that “social issues” are not optional or superfluous, but rather essential. If the culture, or “the People”, is morally degenerate then, as pointed out by Adams, our Constitution becomes powerless to govern this nation. A nation in which the People are sovereign requires morally self-restrained people to function. Drop degenerates in as citizens instead, and the freedoms contained in the Constitution just become a license to do unspeakable evil.
Sununu is either a spineless wimp or a degenerate himself.
You left out ‘Institute racial equity policies at all levels of government and society’ and ‘Institute permanent racial reparation programs at all levels of government and society’.
To the idiot Sununu: The public schools ARE the goverment, and is they, the public schools, that have no right to politicize education and forcing a cultural war on the children and against the wishes of the parents.
One new idea mentioned just recently was each school’s principal to be directly elected by the parents of the kids attending that school.
Sununu doesn’t understand every law passed supports some group’s moral position.
The fact he refuses to see that is telling.

It is not the solution but it is mostly the cause of the problems.
