I am in direct contact with NORCOM and monitoring the latest issue over Havre and the northern border. Airspace is closed due to an object that could interfere with commercial air traffic---the DOD will resume efforts to observe and ground the object in the morning.

This statement fits the MO of the two things already shot down in Alaska and Canada so I guess a third shootdown may be coming tomorrow in Montana.

Winds are not particularly strong overnight at the flight levels of previous balloons but even so, it would not just hover over Montana all night, it could be over Minnesota or Iowa by daylight. That is, unless it’s lower down where winds are unusually weak, or, if it can be steered remotely.
