It was brought in specifically to get Murkowski re-elected. She would have never won a republican primary. And if she had run third party on the old system, she would not have had enough votes to win. She only managed to do that in the 90s because people did not realize how evil RINOs truly are.
Murky now has 6 years to cook up some other vote-stealing scheme if RCV gets thrown out.
