There's a burnt shell of an old small pickup (maybe a Ranger) on the side of a highway about 3 miles from where I live that's been there about a week. I don't know what caused it to burn, whether it caught on fire wile driving, etc.

The other day my wife and I drove past it and I joked that it's not real. My wife asked why. I told her it wasn't an EV and EV's are supposedly the only ones that catch on fire. LOL

Any vehicle can catch fire.

The difference is that the small pickup you saw didn’t burn out of control for 10-12 hours and require the local fire department to use a year’s supply of fire suppressant foam to extinguish it.

Ever seen an ICE car catch fire because it was submerged underwater? I haven’t.

EVs however......

Yes, every thread like this gets a lot people who don’t have the common sense to understand that gasoline is flammable.

I made a few business trips to Sikorsky Aircraft in Connecticut. One time we landed at LaGuardia in NY and drove up the freeway to Connecticut. Near LaGuardia there were probably 12-15 abandoned cars along the freeway, and it was clear they'd been there for more than a week, they'd been there for YEARS. Hopefully someone will tow away that junk near your house soon.
