There’s no sugarcoating what happened that day: J6 was shocking and violent in parts. It remains a stain on the nation, but it was not an “insurrection” or a “terrorist” attack.

Miranda Devine, who presumably has gotten a preview of Carlson’s reports — or perhaps helped in the effort to tell the story — says “Carlson will show the counter-narrative so that the American public gets a more balanced idea of what happened that day” and how the “J6 committee twisted everything.” For example, she says the report “will show hundreds of peaceful people inside the Capitol behaving like tourists, queueing politely, walking within the rope lines, taking selfies, and stopping to pick up an overturned bollard, all while police look on.” Some “insurrection.” She reports that there’s a major reveal about “the truth” of QAnon Shaman Jacob Chansley.

What was the government justification in not releasing these tapes to defense attorneys? I would think conduct, as described, would be relevant to the charge against a person who stated that they were invited into the capital by uniformed officers. Wouldn’t a video showing this be relevant to the alleged conduct?

I had always thought that the government was required to turn over such things to the defense.

For instance, Carlson’s team says the J6 committee added audio to silent CCTV footage, inserting screams and other crowd mayhem sounds, to make it seem more ominous.

This is falsifying evidence and should be treated criminally if it can be verified.
