A student shot two staff members at Denver’s East High School Wednesday morning then fled the scene before police could apprehend him.
CBS News reported that the staff members survived being shot and one is in stable condition and the second is in critical.

Just heard an update. They’ve identified the shooter but haven’t caught him yet.
The 2 faculty members are the only shooting victims.

Other stories say that the school had a daily pat-down arrangement with the student due to prior behaviour problems. This wasn’t just a routine pat-down in other words, it was a pat-down every day for this particular student. Sounds like the school put staff and other students at risk in order to accomodate a student the school knew was dangerous.
Just a matter of time till it’s more than just problem kids.
My old high school. Back in the day, it was middle class, high performing at all levels; academic and sports. Never any problems. The best in the Denver area. Very sad, the East High Angels have fallen.
But possessing guns on a highschool campus in Colorado is illegal. How could it happen?

Another excuse for the commierado legislature to disarm law abiding citizens
My dh is a retired GA high school teacher/administrator. Metal detectors at main entrances has been the norm for decades. These heavy metal doors lock automatically unless “propped open” by evil doers.
