In a sane, law-abiding society, yes.
But we no longer have a sane, law-abiding society. Very unfortunate.
Our politicians know that they have control over enough of our legal system that there’s not a thing we citizens can do about it.
And when I say “our politicians” I mean - ALL of them, democrats and republicans; they’re all in it together. More power for DC means more power to ALL of them.
