Trump gets the Nixon treatment

I wish I could say America has become a Banana Republic, but there is no reason to believe we are a republic, banana or otherwise.

As I watched Trump, I couldn't help but think back to sitting with a dear friend and his mom watching Nixon's resignation. We rejoiced at the "justice" of his removal to "save" the Republic.

We were fools. Nixon was framed. Just like Trump. Déjà vu all over again.

- Like the Deep State of today focused on taking Trump out, so did the Deep State of Nixon's day. The CIA, the Democrat/Kennedy Wing of the Justice Department, the FBI, and the media (NYT and Washington Post) actively conspired to take Nixon out because he was so popular and he wasn't Washington Deep State. They wanted to clear the field for Teddy Kennedy's 1976 presidential run. So they set Nixon up and went after his donors.

- In Kennedy's Camelot, Nixon was an illegitimate president. Teddy should have been crowned in 1972, not that cretin Nixon. I still fondly remember the MAD Magazine cover showing a Volkswagen, famous for floating longer than other cars due to unibody construction, floating in water. The headline is "If Ted Kennedy drove a Volkswagen, he'd be president today." Ted killed Mary Jo in 1969 by running off a bridge and leaving her to drown.

The communist Dims hated Nixon ever since Nixon practically single handedly brought down Alger Hiss.

I don’t understand. Teddy should have been crowned in 1972? Kennedy did not run in the primaries in 1972 . He was not a presidential candidate that year.

So will any other (real) Republican...

When we let kids drive the bulldozer...why are we surprised when the house gets smashed?

Yep, Congressman Nixon became loathed by the left from that point onwards. Hating Nixon became the de facto position on him by the MSM.

Nixon had invited Teddy to be at Cape Canaveral during the first manned moon landing, but Teddy turned him down. If he had been there instead of at Chappaquiddick, Mary Jo wouldn’t have drowned and his future political prospects (outside of Massacchusetts) would have been brighter. Of course when he tried to run against Jimmy Carter he couldn’t answer a simple question from Roger Mudd about why he was running for President.

Richard Nixon committed crimes and lied about them.

Trump didn’t commit crimes and didn’t lie about anything.

He ran on a platform of a promise to make America great again for Americans and kept his promise.

That wasn’t supposed to happen. Hillary Clinton was supposed to waltz into the Oval Office and be the first “Madame President’’.

The Democrats were blind sided and furious. Remember “The Young Turks’’ and Cent Uygar?

He spoke the quiet part out loud on election night when he swore revenge.

67 years living in this country and in my life time I’ve never witnessed the persecution of one man, a former president whose only crime was to love his country and want to do right for the American people.

If another Democrat wins The White House this nation is finished.

What the Democrats are doing to Trump they will do to the rest of us. They’re doing it already.

The United States of America, my country, my home is in trouble.

Serious trouble.

God help us.

I agree 100% with you on the venom the Dims have for Trump.

But I'm not in the camp of believing Nixon was the guilty monster the Dims made him out to be. There's a lot of evidence that Nixon was framed.
