Recent layoffs at ABC News were not business as usual, some staffers say. “It feels personal,” an insider told Page Six.
ABC News president Kim Godwin announced layoffs at the network last month — and multiple sources told us it was a form of payback to people she thought were leaking stories about her at the network.
“They’re targeting people to figure out who’s leaking, and the layoffs are a part of it. They’re trying to make an example of them,” a source believes.
The cost-cutting move was part of parent Disney’s plan to cut 7,000 jobs.

I can see why.

It appears some ABC employees are going to have to learn to code. Or maybe mine coal. I can't remember which it is that is recommended for media personnel and "journalists". Since Elon Musk found that about 75% of Twitter employees don't actually do anything, "learn to code" may not provide a lot of career opportunities for the next few years.
I've heard the new mayor say Chicago is going to be hiring social workers to replace the police, so maybe "learn to deal with enraged crazy people on drugs" will be the hot employment opportunity for the future.
(Besides, working for a Disney company the newly laid-off already have experience working with crazy people who are on drugs.)

I wonder how many of those laid off APOLOGIZED for all the false stories they ran about Trump, or at least ‘expressed regrets’. How many of them outed their ‘sources’ (if any existed) that were later shown to be lying to them about Trump?
But they should be HAPPY, at least they’ll likely not have to hire legal council to try to keep from having to go to jail due to spurious charges, as happened to many who supported Trump.

Any property or business owner with HALF A BRAIN would know to GET OUT NOW.
...but they won’t. The Jews didn’t in Europe in the 1930s, when it was still possible, people simply rationalize-away the obvious.

People of a certain race is not being laid off, that’s for certain.
It’s how USA government jobs became overwhelmingly black dominated. They acted like bigots and were not reprimanded. This reinforced over time until the workplace is primarily black.
