Pro-crime policies work. They always work.
Minneapolis Police records showed there have been 2,725 auto thefts so far in 2023, compared to 1,306 last year at this time.
What could the home of famous drug overdose victim George Floyd be doing right to make that happen?
“I bet 14 or 16 years old, came up, had guns, like right into, you know, my stomach, and all I could look at was the gun,” Craig Boettcher said.
He was one of the 755 victims attacked in the Twin Cities last year. We know stories like his well.
“They said ‘Give us your keys or we’ll kill you,'” Boettcher said.
Minneapolis Police report 655 carjackings last year alone. They resulted in 91 arrests. At least one 18 year old was arrested three times. Our investigation found he was charged twice.
During one police interview, a suspect said it was only a misdemeanor. Police clarified it’s a felony. The suspect admitted, “Every time I get caught in a stolen [car] (they) drop it down to a misdemeanor.”
“Now I have to look at everybody as somebody who could threaten or kill me, instead of helping people,” Boettcher said.
He hopes there’s a solution before more innocent people are hurt.

Well, this is what the folks of Minneapolis voted for, so I suggest they stop whining and vote against the demonrats next time.
I’m shocked I tell ya!!!
More counterfeit $20 bills too?
Like Chicago and New York City, they won’t be able to figure it out and keep voting Democrat
Double-down on stupid
Sounds like St. Georgie is the patron saint of Grand Theft Auto.
Hmmm. I don’t think he can be blamed for this.
So the cops aren’t standing down for fear of being Derek Chauvined?
There is a solution. Kill or be killed.
Roving bands of quakers
Last year a juvenile in the Twin Cities was apprehended with a stolen car. Trying to escape he totalled one police car, severely damaged another and totalled the stolen car. A handgun was found in the stolen car. For the theft and likely $200,000 in damages, plus a felony weapons charge. The kid got 10 days of in home detention. In my opinion he should have gotten 10 years.
I think it’s going to get worse. People are leaving crime-ridden cities. Just check the exit stats for NYC, Seattle, the Twin Cities, etc. And who is going to move into those houses that are left? Either nobody or someone who wants to be part of the crime wave. The city dies. Just ask the people in Trenton, Newark, Detroit, et al.
Clearly they’re not voting for Democrats enough. If they voted all the way for Democrats, everything would turn into rainbows and unicorns. They just have to vote even better.
They should demand changing the name from Minneapolis, to George Floyd City.
Hey - that’s nothing.....just call it reparations!!
Now you're getting it.
There was this great TV program called Bait Car.
“”Viewers get to ride shotgun as car thieves are caught in the act. Lured by authorities to high-tech bait cars that are outfitted with hidden cameras and sophisticated tracking devices, the thieves get in and drive away, but their joy ride eventually ends with a trip to jail.””
If I had some real disposable $$, I would love to use almost-dead Teslas as the bait. There are microphones and video inside the bait car. The police place the cars in areas already known for hijack and car theft. Sometimes there are two crooks stealing the car. The conversations inside the bait car as they drive away are funny. The excuses they give the police are hilarious. I remember one idiot “I didn’t have bus fair to get to my mom’s house.” The police have a remote kill-switch in the bait car. They let the crooks drive very little, and kill the engine. In today’s EVs, there probably is already such a kill-switch. Heck, you could even use the ridiculous EV charging stations to place the bait car, just don’t charge the battery much.
Between achmed blares 5 times a day and the known common thug seems like Minneapolis is not the place to live. Leave it so the peaceful religious transplants can deal with the riff raff.
Just more of the PARTITIONING of the US - Two societies, one feral in the cities, the other slightly less feral, out of the cities.
If they start charging these criminals in Minneapolis appropriately, they'll leave the city / open air prison / urban reservation / homeless shelter and victimize productive citizens in other areas.
Lessen the charges so they stay in the urban reservation and avoid civilization.
Not car theft...it’s ride sharing.
