Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (MI) signed two gun control bills into law this week in the aftermath of a shooting at Michigan State University.
According to The Detroit News, the bills are the “most significant firearm restrictions Michigan has enacted in almost 30 years.” The laws will expand background checks and impose storage standards for guns and ammunition that are kept in homes with children.
Whitmer signed the bills into law at Michigan State University, where three students were killed after a gunman opened fire on the campus in February. The suspect, Anthony McRae, 43, was found by police dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound (ABC News):
"The first of the two new laws would require anyone who does not have a gun license to undergo a federal national instant criminal background check before purchasing a gun, according to the legislation."

Soooooo, we already do background checks... Who the heck is going to inspect homes for proper locking? Oh yeah, those homes will be inspected AFTER something else was done to bring the cops to the home. Neither of these laws will do a damn thing to keep guns out of criminal hands. They’re just more of a hassle for legal gun owners.

I assume it is the Second Amendment Foundation that is suing. I’ll have to see if I can find out that information.

There was a Republican who would have beat her. The rats sabotaged his petitions to get on the Primary ballot. Craig was polling way ahead of her. The rat SOS tossed thousand of ballots with any flaws no matter how small. The rats also put bogus names on the ballots and the SOS knew about it so it allowed her to toss his petitions and kept him out of the primary. Craig was the black Police Chief from Detroit.
Ok, but the suit needs to be over the “ safe storage” law. This is exactly what the Redcoats were doing, telling people what and where the could have Guns in thier House.😡😡
