Prosecutors and complaining witnesses manipulate their contact with the media ALL the time in high profile cases to prejudice the jury. They hate it when defendants have the ability to manipulate back — most defendants are young, black, and don’t have the resources to fight back.
This judge appears not to see the asymmetry inherent in his admonishment.
Has anyone here not heard hysterical press reports about evil DJT raping women. Where do we think those came from?
I watched a ‘news’ program for a few minutes about a month ago where the person that claimed she was raped gave her full story to the reporter. Isn’t that the same thing? Get you side of the story out ahead of time to influence public opinion, i.e., the jury pool?
You're living in the past. Yes, the American judicial system used to be fairly reliable ... a defendant could get a fair trial. But your adage about holding one's tongue doesn't apply anymore.
Now, with the criminals in charge, their friends go free and their political enemies pay - with time, money, and reputation. If a person doesn't speak up these days, the criminals will carry on unfettered, wreaking all the damage they could hope for on their enemy.
Trump is making the right moves for today's reality.

Not sure who you’re referring to but I’m about to give up on Trump.
Also, I suspect that conservative media is most interested in making money rather than honesty in what they say. Each show needs to retain and expand an audience that buys things the shows advertise. The management and on-air people on a show won’t change a show and lose audience.
So, our conservative shows continue with their limited but profitable audiences. The shows say what we want to hear.
There possibly are no longer enough conservatives to matter in a general election, but the shows don’t care since they’re making us feel good.
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote that the world awaits the arrival of the next poet. We await the arrival of possibly a single individual that describe a new political arrangement to us.
Or, maybe I’ll be surprised and a lot of people will vote out the current liberal leaders.

The settlement between Dominion and Fox is ample proof of that.
Gag rules — demanded or even implied — are completely unconstitutional. A defendant should be free to say what he/she wants, whether it helps or damages their case, unless those statements represent intimidation or threats…
Without DNA, there is absolutely no case this far from the alleged incident.
This case should be thrown out completely…
