Defendants ae told by their lawyers to remain silent so they don’t inadvertently incriminate themselves. Since Trump isn’t lying he has nothing to hide.
A defendant can make a statement that is counter to his/her interest, even if innocent. A defendant can present themselves unfavorably to jurors, even if innocent. I think this accusation is a crock, but a New York juror might agree that the case is a crock, but fear the consequences of voting for Trump. Ask Derek Chauvin. He never had a chance. Any juror voting to acquit would have had his house burned down within a week.
Ok. You’ve obviously mastered the issue, so I’ll set aside my experience, including in a CIVIL case that had an eight figure judgment, and defer to your superior grasp of the matter. Seriously, I’ll leave the field to you and the other legal beagles who chimed in, and whom I’ll invite to wipe the foam off their lips that formed while they were making their posts.
And I bet that you just run your mouth whenever police officer, detective, prosecutor, starts, asking a lot of questions. You have nothing to hide right?
