This Great State has become the stupid state.
Are these delivery guys working for the pizza shop or the NYC government?
I’ve been a DD driver for two and a half years (it’s a lot of fun and a great way to supplement Social Security!). Here in Maryland I already make about $25-30 and hour, and I know some Dashers are already over the $42,000 range. Downside for the drivers, of course, is gas and wear and tear on the car. But it’s sure been a godsend for me...and a lot of fun. Here in our area, the Dashers really pride themselves on doing a great job. I know it’s not that way everywhere.
do the jobs not get offered at fee and if no drivers bite the fee gets bumped up until someone does? I really don’t think this id n hourly gig ... drivers provide their own car and pay all expenses. Am i correct?
What???, is the City of New York the employer of these delivery drivers??
Otherwise, How can they set the wages of a specific job in a specific private business?
It’s a way to get more taxes out of this economic activity
Next up: Mandatory racial and sexual diversity of drivers.
Why is the government, at any level, attempting to run private businesses? The very same governments that are completely incapable of running, you know, government.
Didn’t NYC go bankrupt at one point (1977)? How much debt do they currently have? How much unfunded pensions and liabilities do they have?
Insane. The inmates who believe they are capable of running the asylum.
Don’t ANY of these people take Economics 101?
This is wacky socialist stuff. It’s one thing to set a minimum wage. But now NYC is trying to set wages for a specific job category.
Why stop there, NYC? Why not just set wages for every job category? Dentists, janitors, landscapers, etc.
Perhaps they could use an old wage scale list from Stalin’s USSR, and update it for inflation. Yes, that would save time.
So I went into the app for the local pizza joint and ordered one. Would have cost $24 if I chose to have it delivered and would have been obliged to tip on top of that.
Instead, I drove a few miles to pick it up myself and paid $17.
Why not $1000?
Government determining private pay rates, for pizza delivery no less. What could go wrong?
Minimum Wage:
1. Not what I have to pay you, it is ALL I have to pay you.
2. All jobs worth less are prohibited.
Why is the city setting pay rates for a private business?
The government now runs the delivery business. Correct?
“NYC proposes paying delivery-app workers up to $33 hourly: DoorDash doomsday”
How generous of the city to dole out such large sums of money that isn’t theirs.
A liberal is a thoughtful, kind, generous, big hearted, charitable person who will gladly give you the shirt...off of someone else’s back.
My neighbor has everything delivered. This includes food from the food delivery services like Door Dash. Packages are on her doorstep everyday. I have never seen her bring home anything.
Has no meaning to the rest of the world except libtardism causes ruin
Door dash brings my dog food lol
"The End" is near for NYC and they have nary a clue.
Hard to believe how "stuck on stupid" NYC politicians are.
