Syracuse now holds the title for the most guns collected at a gun buyback program in state history.

According to Attorney General Letisha James via Twitter, Syracuse collected 751 guns in five hours on Saturday, April 29 during the gun buyback program.

That is the most guns collected at an Attorney General's Office sanctioned buyback program in state history according AG James.

One neighbor made $5,000 dollars from returning their guns Saturday.

So a thug steals a gun and then sells it to the government. What a scam.

We’ve seen some of the “guns” that get turned in

Pieces of junk and homemade and inoperable

But, it makes PoPo feel good

Where do you find this stuff, CC? LOL.

Never heard of CNYCentral.

Anyway, take a look at the main close-up pic of the table of guns? I'm 99% sure that the flintlock rifle -- which is hilarious to see in a buy-back anyway -- is the Davy Crockett one that Disney sold in Frontierland. It would shoot little cork balls! Imagine that in the ghetto.

They should have these buy-backs as a part of a gun show.

Collect the guns, have a gunsmith check them out, then offer them for sale.

Get the guns into the hands of people who understand and will properly use them.

“One neighbor made $5,000 dollars from returning their guns Saturday.”

I’d love to see a few pics of the crap that got turned in.

There are some real junk guns among those collected. People were turning in junk to get money, some of which is likely going to be used to buy new guns.

In 2022, New York changed its "buyback" rules after one individual 3D printed enough guns to get $21,000 "back" from the taxpayers.

For 99% of the people that’s a true statement, think about the person who sold their guns back to the government for $5000, what could you buy for $5000 in terms of new more modern weapons.

Spread around properly you could assemble quite the arsenal for $5000, especially if you were getting rid of old broken down guns passed down to you from family.

Would love to see results of a Police/BATFE serial number check. Wonder how many have actually been reported stolen?

Buy back means the government sold them and is buying them back. They think everything is theirs.

I also think this is BS to make it look like people are coming around to their way.

I would never believe a word they say.

Yep. How can a non-licensed firearms organization buy guns without a background check.

They didn’t “sell” the guns originally; how can it be a buy back”?

Dude in Houston recently built a bunch of 3D printed guns and turned them in for big money. The little Stalinists didn’t think it was very funny.

I’ve been pondering doing a bunch of zip guns and as I understand if you leave the spent case in it you get more money because it’s a “working gun.”

I wonder how long it would take to fill a wheelbarrow?
