Farmington was dangerous when I first lived there in 1954-1956.
When I moved back in 1973, it had a higher crime rate than Philadelphia, PA.

Now the power plants are closing and lots of people out of work it is even worse!

I still love that area!

Albuquerque is really scary. Wife and I stayed there overnight 2 years ago while moving to Oklahoma from Oregon. Never again.

Scenically it is gorgeous. If not for the politics, NM would be awesome. Of course that applies to many blue states.

Yah and the drugs in these small western towns are off the hook. Have been for a long time and just getting worse.
