When Raegan Zelaya and Shua Wilmot decided to include their pronouns at the end of their work emails, they thought they were doing a good thing: following what they viewed as an emerging professional standard, and also sending a message of inclusivity at the Christian university where they worked.
But their bosses at Houghton University, in upstate New York, saw the matter very differently.
Administrators at Houghton, which is affiliated with a conservative branch of the Methodist Church, asked Ms. Zelaya and Mr. Wilmot, two residence hall directors, to remove the words “she/her” and “he/him” from their email signatures, saying they violated a new policy. When they refused to do so, both employees were fired, just weeks before the end of the semester.
Houghton’s firing of the two staff members has dismayed some of its alumni, nearly 600 of whom signed a petition in protest. And it comes as gender and sexuality have become major fault lines in an increasingly divided nation, and after other faith-based organizations, including Yeshiva University in Manhattan, have argued that First Amendment protections of religious freedom allow them to treat gay and transgender people differently than others.

All the years I worked for someone else, I followed their rules. If I wanted to make up my own directives, I would have started my own company.
Not fired for including pronouns.
Fired “for” refusing to remove pronouns.
There is a difference.
Anyone posting their “pronouns” simply exposes the fact that they have problems.
No less, probably much more.
Avoid them like the plague.
Sickos do what sickos do.
Somebody complained, I had to take it off.
The other day I was waiting to board a plane. There were 4-5 middle aged black women waiting to board and having a lot of fun together as they laughed heartily. As I walked past I quipped “You people need to stop having so much fun.”
Fortunately, they laughed so hard at my joke they didn’t notice my innate racism and yell at me.

I saw my first pronouns sig block from a male Air Force JAG major a few months ago. He/Him. Made me wanna puke. Wa tempted to copy/paste and send it back to him with a “November Sierra, Sierra”.

When I see pronouns (he/him, she/her, they/them, xir/xim, whatever), I acknowledge they are on borrowed time and have taken the clot shots.

I used the term “you people” to a NEEEEGRO woman SEIU union rep once and she accused me of RACISM.
I pointed out to her that the tape recorder was running during the entire disciplinary hearing, her response was “so what”.
My response was that she would either retract her accusation of racism on the current hearing record or I would
SUE HER INTO POVERTY ALONG WITH EVERY EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF SEIU and I would try to the best of my ability to get them all FIRED!
I told her considering the fact that my company (state gov) had a zero tolerance policy about such things that her unsubstantiated accusation could cause me to lose my job and livelihood and I would not tolerate that and would see her in court.
She immediately retracted her statement “FOR THE RECORD” and said I had just misunderstood her.
Bullshit; she was a NEGRO FEMALE UNION REP FOR SEIU and was trying to intimidate the evil WHITE MALE SUPERVISOR, well it doesn’t work with this HONKEY sweetheart.
Weird thing is she was trying to prevent the termination of a CORNFED, BLUE EYED, BLOND HAIRED, LYING THIEF!
SOB was terminated (FIRED) 20 minutes later!
I don’t think that’s very much different than “Progressives in the open, Fire For Effect”?

Houghton is a good place. I know some graduates.
