As a senior in HS (early 70s) we took a field trip to a state mental institution. The behavior that I saw there is the very same behavior that I have seen in person on the streets of Washington DC, Baltimore MD, Las Vegas NV, Los Angeles CA, etc.

Uniformed officers are doing nothing possibly because of the Flloyd incident where the officer got 20 years. Don’t blame them at all. Some of these drug offenders have superhuman strength when high.

Thank God white liberal 'elites' haven't noticed blacks who protect other blacks. When they do they'll work to put a stop to it. The 'elites' stock in trade is protecting evil and rubbing their boots into the faces of good people.
The goal of white liberal 'elites' is to create hell on earth for all of us normals... of all colors. It would be better for Thomas Lifson to ignore this issue.

Security may be legally barred from doing anything physical themselves.
In NY security guards for the most part are only allowed to defend themself and even then to a bare minimum.
Yes the kaw says you can defend others, in practice it’s just not worth it as YOU get arrested, the perp is let go and you get to play with the court system that treats you worse than the criminal and indeed rewards criminals now
I don’t tend to think of these acts in the face of violence and potential harm as vigilantism. I see it more as Good Samaritanism or old-fashioned heroism. To me, vigilantism happens when people feel someone or some several have gotten away with what ought to be punished (as when someone is acquitted on a technicality, for example), and then other people decide to impose punishment later. Vigilantism has a kneejerk negative connotation which we ought to resist using in inappropriate situations.

If law enforcement won’t take action then citizens will have to. And criminals should realize that law enforcement theoretically is there to protect them from the citizenry. If all go vigilante it will be very bad for the criminals. Not that I am advocating that but....
The guards know that if something goes “wrong” they will face criminal charges (state AND Federal) and lawsuits.
