I remember when California Citizens voted down Prop 15, a bill to ban all handguns in the state. It was guaranteed by Handgun Control Inc to be a shoo- in.
But that was 1982. A new generation has arrived “which knew not Joseph.” and are willing to give up liberty for safety, something both Cicero and Ben Franklin warned about.

Copy this quote! I found it in a March 1988 copy of a Republican booklet that was “The Official Organ of the Republican Party.” It is hard to find today!
