Apparently he was a Colorado resident when nominated to be Secretary of the Interior. Since Taft, most Secretaries of the Interior have come from the western half of the US—of the last 21 there was only one from the eastern half (Rogers Morton from Maryland).

I watched “Love and Mercy”
That’s a good film, particularly the studio scenes where they’re cutting songs from the Pet Sounds/Good Vibrations/Smile era. The filmmakers almost slavishly recreated the details of those recording sessions, including what the Wilsons and the session musicians were wearing.
I don’t know how they managed to get through that without losing it.

One time I drove into the town of pine ridge from the south. On our way to the black hills. As my daughter and I drove along, it looked like there had literally been a fire fight in the streets. People laying everywhere, some half on the sidewalk half in the street, laying wherever they passed out. One drunk Indian on the sidewalk who was still standing raised a fist as we drove by. My daughter was terrified.
As we pass through town, the only decent buildings were government structures. All of the billboards and signs were US government propaganda, like don’t beat your wife, alcohol is dangerous, your child’s education is important, etc. It was like we had driven behind the iron curtain.
