Oregon Republicans end walkout after Democrats drop most gun control demands

Gun control wasn’t the only issue that led to the Republican minority walking out and denying Democrats a quorum for six weeks, but it was one of the key sticking points for those lawmakers who deployed the last-ditch tactic this session. Now the walkout is over, an agreement between the GOP and Democratic leadership is in place, and most of the anti-gun measures that Democrats had prioritized are off the table.

"In a major boon for Republicans, Democrats agreed to significant concessions, including key changes to controversial reproductive health care and gun control bills in order to convince the conservative senators to end the longest walkout in state history. Lawmakers now must rush to pass hundreds of bills that have piled up in the Senate, as well as the the state government budget, before the legislative session ends June 25.

“Senate Republicans and Independents stood firm as the last line of defense for parental rights and the rule of law,” Senate Republican Leader Tim Knopp, R-Bend, said in a statement. “I am incredibly proud of their steadfast determination to give their constituents a long-overdue seat at the table.”"

Good for the Oregon GOP. This leaves just a few days for the left to push through their priorities. Hopefully, they will not have sufficient time to pass all the anti-freedom bills on their wish list.

Remember, Democrats do not actually oppose or hate guns. They just done want YOU to have one.

The terrifying part is they plan to pass “hundreds of laws” each session.

They need to return to biennial sessions...for a start.

After ten such wonderful victories, we will have no guns.

I’m wondering if their absence eliminates them from re-election.

Measure 113.

I guess I don’t see much to applaud for returning to attend the legislative session. Boycotting seems the only alternative when contending against truly evil people. This perception can be found in two bills at the national level defining the basic character of Democrats.

First to consider is that by a 220-210 margin, the House of Representatives on passed the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, with only one Democrat voting in favor. So, with only one exception these legislators establish a line for defense of abortion within their Democrat Party that includes those born alive despite attempted abortion.

According to the logic for voting against this bill, an infant breathing air on its own outside the womb is not a human person. Medical personnel are not only not derelict in failing to provide care, but instead must murder the baby. For Democrats abortion becomes an unbounded sacrament.

Now read the bill and see if that is not the most reasonable interpretation. Clearly, we can’t just all get along.

Next up is the Parent’s Bill of Rights that passed by a vote of 213-208 in the US House of Representatives with an overwhelming Democrat dissent. Noticed how few agree with the idea of parents having rights regarding their children’s education. When I was growing up our parents would have been appalled by any idea that did not place the nuclear family as the paramount institution of our country.

Now the Democrats are appalled by the idea that “The right of parents to educate their children is a pre-political natural right that the U.S. Supreme Court has recognized as ‘beyond debate’ and rooted in the ‘history and culture of Western civilization’”

They can not serve again. But the people in their districts know this and will keep voting for one term “kamikaze’ republicans. This is the only way to stop the evil democrats.

Oregon use to be a live and live state. Mail in voting changed that and now the entire state is run by Portland based antifa commies and just a few short years, with the installation of Brown, it is a communist hell hole. Out east is nice but they are invading there too.

My State Senator Suzanne Weber is one of the holdouts. She is the first Republican to represent me in over 20 years. Now she can’t run again because of the new law Oregonians passed. If they garner 10 unexcused absences they can’t run for office. Republicans are saying the law is unconstitutional and can be challenged. Looks like that was a pipe dream and she will be out of office because of her boycotting the assemble to deny a quorum.

This is a real bummer!

People who say crap like “Oregon voters deserve what they get” doesn’t know the history of mail in only vote theft for almost 25 years. Clean elections will change Oregon, Colorado, Washington and California.
