Newsom: Businesses Leaving S.F. Due to Economic Shifts, COVID and Lots of Places Have Issues, But I Did Have to Send in the National Guard
Breitbart ^ | 06/16/2023 | Ian hatchett

Posted on 06/16/2023 4:08:33 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

During an interview set to air on Friday’s edition of “The Issue Is,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) argued that cities are leaving San Francisco because they’re “struggling to recover from the pandemic” and “struggling with the macroeconomic shifts,” there are “issues related to Walgreens and others that have shut down all across this country. Everything in San Francisco, again, gets colored in and it’s made 10x bigger.” But there are “challenges” in the city that have necessitated sending the National Guard and California Highway Patrol into the city.

“National Guard and California Highway Patrol”

These guys can buy lunch and snacks from the vendors ... maybe some of them will stick around.

There have been zero National Guard members sent into the city, that was all lip service in prep for his Presidential run when Biden inevitably steps away before next year.

I’ve even read conservative sites giving excuses for Democrat policies.
Bottom line is Democrats are killing us and some are afraid to point that out.

The largest hotel in San Francisco just walked away and is default on their $725 million debt. Add the Westfield Mall folks getting out of San Francisco and all their malls in the United States.

The commercial real estate collapse is going to dwarf the previous housing collapse.

Shouldn’t business leaders show their ruthless, selfish egotistical sides and treasure money over anything else-—woke kissing up or not?

I still haven’t caught up with token blacks and women in businesses being replaced by genuine, sincere support for the overthrow of America by woke totalitarianism by the business leaders.

“Gavin Newsom (D) argued that cities are leaving San Francisco...”

Breitbart is run by imbeciles. It is incapable of writing a coherent, logical sentence.

“There have been zero National Guard members sent into the city, that was all lip service in prep for his Presidential run when Biden inevitably steps away before next year.”

I remember him sending in the CHP into Sacramento to calm down taxpayers and conservative college students during a Covid rebellion by citizens.

Never remember him using his Gestapo troops in Gay Frisco.

There were no National Guard there as of the last week of May.
Eyewitness here. None reported in any local media either to this day.

Correction - Westfield is the mall owner/operator. They are not closing their other malls.

The lender, Deutschbank, IS trying to get out of their exposure to US malls and commercial properties. Its trying to sell its US commercial loans to TPG, a private equity company.

"cities leaving San Francisco"

Breitbart obviously can't afford to pay for an editor.

Yes. In his day there was a burst of property development. You can see a bunch of new condo and office buildings south of market dating from his liberalizing of zoning and development rules. He was seen as “pro business” in his time. And of course pro -gay marriage.

Well, that's a little confusing.

From Fox 11

The owner of Westfield Malls is planning to sell all of its properties in the US. Locations in southern California include, Century City, Culver City, Sherman Oaks, Santa Anita, Canoga Park, and Valencia. The company didn't elaborate on whether the malls will be sold together or individually, but all 24 malls are to be sold by 2023.

And on my end, that’s news to me. And a year old too.
So maybe both ends want out.
