San Francisco will continue to rot because an institutional inertia sets in when city leaders refuse to admit that their policies have failed despite all evidence pointing to that fact.

For the left, admitting failure is worse than letting the city actually fail.

True. They are protected by fate and abandoned by the Master of fate: the Lord. It takes special efforts of leaders to reject responsibility for massive problems in SF.
