What did Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Loretta Lynch, and James Comey know about Russia-collusion — and when did they know it? John Durham dropped a bombshell in his testimony today at House Oversight, which will go on for at least a couple of hours or more, but this part wasn’t the bombshell. In his special-counsel report, Durham had already revealed that CIA Director John Brennan briefed these four in August 2016 that Hillary Clinton planned to paint Donald Trump as linked to Russian intelligence, presumably to shift attention away from her own e-mail scandal.
That briefing resulted in a “referral memorandum,” and one of its recipients was then-FBI director James Comey. Oversight chair Jim Jordan asks Durham whether Comey ever bothered to share that with the agents assigned to the newly launched Operation Crossfire Hurricane or ever presented to the FISA court when applications were made for domestic surveillance of Trump campaign officials. Nope, Durham says, and explains how he found that out:
JORDAN: "Did [Comey] share it with the agents…working the Crossfire Hurricane case?!"
DURHAM: "No."

Let me expand the truncated transcript on Durham’s recollection:
JORDAN: Can you tell the committee what happened when you took that referral memo, and shared it with one of those agents?
DURHAM: We interviewed the first supervisor on the Crossfire investigation, the operational person. We showed him the intelligence information. He indicated he had never seen it before. He immediately became emotional, and got up and left the room with his lawyer, spent some time in the hallway, came back.
JORDAN: He was ticked off, wasn’t he? He was ticked off because this was something he should have had as an agent on the case. This was important information that the director of the FBI kept from the people doing the investigation.
DURHAM: The information was kept from them.
In other words, the director of the FBI knowingly withheld evidence pertinent to an FBI investigation. That resulted not just in errors made by the agents conducting the investigation that might have resulted ending what turned out to be a witch hunt, but also contributed to misrepresentations to the FISA court about the nature of the evidence they used to conduct surveillance on Trump campaign figures.
For that sequence, let’s turn to the report filed in 2019 by Inspector General Michael Horowitz. The executive summary offers a concise review of what transpired, and more importantly, when:
We determined that the Crossfire Hurricane team’s receipt of Steele’s election reporting on September 19, 2016 played a central and essential role in the FBI’s and Department’s decision to seek the FISA order. As noted above, when the team first sought to pursue a FISA order for Page in August 2016, a decision was made by OGC, OI, or both that more information was needed to support a probable cause finding that Page was an agent of a foreign power. As a result, FBI OGC ceased discussions with OI about a Page FISA order at that time.
On September 19, 2016, the same day that the Crossfire Hurricane team first received Steele’s election reporting, the team contacted FBI OGC again about seeking a FISA order for Page and specifically focused on Steele’s reporting in drafting the FI SA request. Two days later, on September 21, the FBI OGC Unit Chief contacted the NSD OI Unit Chief to advise him that the FBI believed it was ready to submit a formal FISA request to OI relating to Page. Almost immediately thereafter, OI assigned an attorney (OI Attorney) to begin preparation of the application.
By September 19-21 2016, the Brennan briefing and referral memorandum was almost a month old. Comey already knew that Hillary Clinton had signed off on this attempt at a dirty trick. By keeping that information to himself, he kept agents in the dark regarding the credibility of the material, although they had their own suspicions (Horowitz, page 259):
According to FBI officials, and as represented to 01 at the time of the first application, the Crossfire Hurricane team was told by Steele that he had been hired by Fusion GPS’s Glenn Simpson to perform his election-related work, was advised by Steele that Fusion GPS had been retained by an unnamed law firm, and had not been informed by Steele of the motivation of Fusion GPS. Additionally, as we discuss in Chapter Four, the FBI assumed, but did not know at the time of the first application, that Steele was conducting opposition research. As described in Chapter Five, McCabe told us that he thought he had heard by the time of the first application that Simpson had been working first for a Republican and then later for a Democrat. However, McCabe also told the OIG that his memory on the timing of events is not always reliable. Other FBI officials told us that the team did not know who hired Simpson until after the first FISA application. We were told by Evans that the use of the term “speculates” in the footnote was intended to convey that even though the FBI did not know at the time the identity of Simpson’s and the U.S. law firm’s ultimate client, the FBI believed it was likely that it was someone who was seeking political opposition research against candidate Trump.
Comey knew it, but made sure the agents assigned to the case did not. So did Obama, Lynch, and Biden. And yet all of these officeholders lied publicly about the nature of the rumors and innuendo consistently for months. Obama himself ramped up his rhetoric about Russian interference in the weeks following this briefing, which certainly seems as though Brennan’s briefing resulted more in a political campaign strategy than in concern over the security of American elections.
So why didn’t Durham charge Comey for withholding evidence? That’s a good question, to which the answer is likely: he’d never have won a conviction on it. It’s clear, though, that Comey did precisely that and helped quarterback a gross intrusion of federal law enforcement into the political process, and did so with knowing malice.
Durham’s testimony continues, and we’ll grab any worthy nuggets along the way. Let me leave you with a few examples of the desperation of Democrats to discredit Durham, and his rebuttals.

Looks like Andy McCabe was the probable source the press used to cover Hillary’s hand in the conspiracy against Trump and American voters. By pointing the finger at a Republican for hiring Fusion GPS (as if that more more than just the usual casual oppo research), Andy could draw attention away from Hillary as the culprit, and also do damage to the opposition.

The very first thing that is always the most essential step with solving a problem is to first accurately define what the problem is. There really wasn’t anything new that came out of the Durham hearing yesterday... not at least to anyone who has been paying even a modicum of attention over the last 6 years.
So what is the problem? Let’s just look at three things... the Russian Collusion and its role in executing the attempted coup, the Bye-done influence peddling corruption and the stolen election that resulted in J6. What all these have in common (and clearly demonstrate) is the incredible bond between the DemRatMarxists, FIB and the enemedia....although there are many aspects, it was/is first and foremost at its roots, a completely unified effort to seize and keep power at all costs. What you are seeing isn’t just some rogue agency, some corrupt individuals who are attempting to enrich themselves, a bit of a turning of a blind eye to things that are criminal in the interest of the ‘greater good’ etc. While all that and much more is part of it, there is this issue of ‘what is the bigger picture’. Reference is made to ‘the swamp’ and the power of the entrenched unaccountable organizations within DC but that trivializes the problem. As difficult as it is to accept, that bigger picture is that you are watching a police state takeover.
How do we fix this? Simple is always good and I’m oft reminded of the 12 step program for Alcoholics Anonymous as being a good start for solving any deep problem.... Most of the steps after defining and recognizing the problem have to do with understanding that we as individuals are but a puny entity when compared to the stranglehold imposed by evil men around us.... but their power is totally obliterated when compared to the power of almighty God.

It’s a great question.... but can we stop calling it a ‘dirty trick’? That term totally trivializes what went on. Russian Collusion was just one specific tactic that all falls under what we can call “a coup”... or perhaps more accurately, an “attempted coup”.
Treason, sedition, insurrection, violent overthrow of the United States government. All punishable by hanging.

Clearly, there are alleys Durham was warned not to blunder into. Some people/entities are untouchable under the current system. Durham's report seems intended to point at those entities - without making any futile attempts to directly accuse them of anything - so some future House of Representatives can finally do its Constitutional duty and eliminate them.

I have lots of thoughts on this subject and your question.... unfortunately a busy day here so freeping will be at a minimum. I agree with your two options but there perhaps is a third option (a closely related subset of the second) which is this.... It may be that the USA totally embraces the one world guvmint and in fact, leads it. It would be a sad thing to think that the USA would go from being Israel’s staunchest defender to leading the attack against it but that might be the case. The Scriptures dealing with ‘end times’ aren’t completely clear about this even though there are many subjects for which it is very clear. What role the USA plays during the tribulation and great tribulation periods is an open question. Others may suggest something different but I’ve read the scriptures and lots of commentary on this and at best, it’s all speculative. It’s best to stick with what we do know... Scripture says there will be a rapture and Christ will take His own. And no person will want to be left behind once the horror of this period comes to fruition.

My interpretation is that the rapture of the church will only occur at the very end, not pre-trib. Jesus said “those that endure until the end will be saved”. If there was going to be a pre-trib rapture, His comment would not make any sense and would, instead, only confuse and mislead (just my take).

The DC jury acquitted Sussman et ano, not because they didn’t do it, but because they didn’t consider lying to the FBI a crime, notwithstanding the jury charge. No conviction. 4th option: these troubled times are just a foreshadowing of the end times.
