Apparently there were leftists trying to blame Elon Musk because they said Starlink failed. LOL

What about the banging every 30 minutes?

“Are you sure.? I bet any day now there will be $300K tickets to see the wreck of the Titan submersible.”

I don’t know what you win, but you win. People really are that stupid.

I took his remark to be more about hiring a bunch of kids he could boss around and pay a lower wage to then being woke.

Professional adults wouldn’t let him cut the corners he was cutting without putting up a fight.

“he wanted diversity”

Sad that diversity is so sought after. Neither diversity or exclusivity is good for hard jobs. You just need the best for them.

At 200 atmospheres I doubt they even saw it coming.

Several years ago when a Titanic exhibit was touring around the country, it stopped in Boston. I live in the middle of NY State, and made the trip, stopping at my son's along the way. They had the piece of the Titanic they had brought up. It was in a covered area outside from where the rest of the exhibit was. It was still being desalinated, and had water running over it. There was a sign that said "Do Not Touch." I was standing there looking it over, checked to see if anyone was watching, which they weren't, so I touched it. I paid very little for the ticket to see the exhibit, and being able to touch an actual section of the Titanic, that featured a small porthole window, was a real treat. Those poor people paid all that money, and likely never got to see it.

The Navy likely knew it imploded but could not come out and say.

I would be very surprised and disappointed if the Navy didn’t know it imploded. The sea floor is supposedly littered with devices to detect submarines trying to be as silent as possible. Titan imploding probably made a pretty big noise. And I understand the Navy not wanting to disclose their capabilities.

Never ceases to amaze me how dumb some wealthy people can be. As if money equates to brains and common sense.

One of my Type O Negative band tees has an old photo of a teeming horde of immigrants on the front and “Diversity Equals Destruction” on the back.

I should wear it more often.

I don’t really think there’s any profound lesson to be learned here, other than “situations transpire.” That, and maybe make some improvements in design. People are always going to want to explore, and sometimes things happen.

There has been mention that they sent a distress signal 15 minutes after they lost contact. If they “lost contact” I don’t know how they received a distress call, it may just be bad reporting.

If they DID send out a distress signal, they may have had a tiny leak, that suddenly become a catastrophic event.

They fired the old white guy who did warn them in a board meeting. Had him escorted out of the building right then and there. I guess that showed him.

Yep, and only 900 miles from Cape Cod it could be a missile launch zone for a sub. So yes, hopefully they heard the implosion when it occurred.
