He can think whatever he wants to think, but he’s grossly underestimating MAGA loyalty. If DeSantis thinks that he can trash the man who first activated and engaged them yet still generate enthusiasm he’ll have another thing coming. Do you think Donald Trump will show up at a DeSantis-nominating convention or make commercials for him? I don’t. DeSantis is building a reservoir of ill will by taking cheap shots.
Notice that the media never asks Dems gotcha questions like this.

Ron should have not run in 2024 but backed Trump from the start. His future would be much brighter if he had been content to remain as governor for his term. There’s still much he can do as governor, but he is among the best of governors.
He looks that way because he is that way.
Take a step back and look at these "news" bits -- the vast majority of which are from outlets that either are totally in the tank for Trump, despite his many sins, and are little more than hit pieces. Much of it is supposition and slander made from whole cloth.
Consider that the same kind of dirty crap could be all over this site about Trump, and there is some, but most folks here who aren't die-hard Trump-worshippers still aren't going to do that to him, many of which voted for Trump when elections actually counted for something... so it's a pretty lopsided representation.
Don't look at DeSantis the man, look at what he has done. He has promoted and made law here in Florida a conservative course of action on many fronts, that no other governor this state has ever had can match -- that no other governor across these 50 states can equal.
Don't fall for the DU-level agitprop that too many here are currently indulging in. Look at the man and what he has done. Don't trust the ravings of people who'd like to see him dead.
DeSantis is a disloyal, back-stabbing, morally bankrupt POS. This is true regardless of the job he is doing as Governor. I remember that other POS Jeb Bush also did a decent job as Florida Governor. Look at him now.
At this point it is pretty obvious that the only choice is between Trump or the Swamp.
Most people are on one side or the other of that without having to think about it.
The phrase “Trump cult” comes from left-wing rhetoric.
