CHICAGO — Prosecutors on Thursday accused a Chicago woman of encouraging her 14-year-old son to shoot two people during an altercation at a fast food restaurant over the weekend, resulting in one man being killed.
The boy did not shoot the second person. Now the mother and son are both charged with first-degree murder.
“It is, in this court’s opinion, highly disturbing that the defendant would encourage her 14-year-old son to be armed with a firearm and fire shots at a victim on the streets of Chicago,” Judge Barbara Dawkins said during Carlishia Hood’s bail hearing on Thursday. She ordered Hood to pay a $300,000 bail deposit to be released on electronic monitoring.

She used the kid to do what she thinks she would have been charged for so by having him do it, he’s a juvenile and would be OK.
But clearly never thought through the consequences of her actions and apparently doesn’t understand what being complicit is.
So, is the mother still eligible for Reparations?

So, she called her son in to shoot him. He ran out after taking one in the back. So, she told him to go outside and shoot him again.
Reparations is not money paid in exchange for better behavior (or any other concession), it's money already owed, see?

Hood and her son, who have no criminal histories, surrendered to police on Wednesday. Her defense attorney said she is a crossing guard for the city of Chicago. She also volunteers at New Hope Church, organizing children’s activities, the lawyer said.
Only in the City of Chicago will you see a crossing guard outfitted with a stop sign in one hand raised high to stop traffic and a 45 in the other hand motioning on coming traffic which direction to travel. It’s just a hood thing. And I thought bus drivers were bad :-)

One lesson (of many) here: Avoid unnecessary confrontations. Put your ego in check when someone mouths off to you. No need to give as good as you get.
