A church in Enfield was having a Pride celebration during their Sunday morning service when two men disrupted the ceremony with hate speech.
Pastor Greg Gray of Enfield’s Congregational United Church of Christ wants to make it very clear: this is not okay.
The church is decorated with rainbow banners, balloons, and flags to show support for the LGBTQ+ community.
“Hate has been strong in this blue state of Connecticut. Hate is strong, and we’re going to love louder,” said Pastor Gray.

Gray says the church is vocal about its support for the LGBTQ+ community. Because of that, he and his congregation have been targeted before.
“I was filling the library one day when a car drove up to scream gay slurs at me from behind,” Pastor Gray said.
“This is definitely a targeted situation that did happen,” said Bob Cressotti, Mayor of Enfield.
Mayor Cressotti says the hatred is disgusting, and there is no place for it in Enfield.

If they are supporting LGBT then it isn’t much of a “Church of Christ”. The Church of Christ follows the New Testament as closely as possible and buggering and clambumping isn’t condoned.
A Pride celebration is hate speech.
Queer has nothing to do with love. It is about deviance and sexual kink, not love. The Lord said it is an abomination. That’s good enough for me.
In the 'weeping and gnashing of teeth' that the Bible predicts for those whose names aren't written in God's Book of Life (in God's handwriting, not yours, by the way...), the weepers will be those who thought they had achieved enough goodness to merit their way into God's good graces. The gnashers will be those who were angry at God when they were alive, and are still angry with them for what He supposedly did to them in death.
Either way, they're excluded from Heaven.

Hence the differentiation between Churches of Christ and the United Church of Christ, which went apostate many years ago.
One is a network of independent churches that strive to preach the Word of God, and the other might be more aptly referred to as a 'social club with a cross on the building.'
I wouldn’t be surprised if they staged the “hate speech” to generate publicity.
Yep. I still have no idea how so many of these congregations are still around. The UCC has a whole is down to ~750k members from over 2 million. IIRC, they lost about half of their membership since they endorsed gay marriage in 2005. They majority of the congregations are under 50 parishioners in weekly attendance.
On paper, I’m still a member of a local UCC Church. In 2004 they had a early service (just the basics, no choir or Sunday School) and a late service. Attendance was probably 50 and 100-125 with 20-30 kids for Sunday School respectively. Now they have one service with a avg. attendance under 50 and some weeks, no kids in Sunday School.
With the exception of the smaller rural churches that always had small attendance, the larger ones built/expanded to seat 150+ people for worship plus related spaces (classrooms, social halls, kitchens, meeting space, etc) have very large buildings that are probably 70% “vacant” space now. I have no idea how they can afford the utilities and maintenance costs now.
I’m gonna start going to “pride” churches with a beautiful shirt (bowling type) that says on the back “Kleptomaniacs for Christ” , “Thieves for the Trinity”, “Bashers for Bethlehems son”, “Whoremongers for the Holy Spirit”, “Murder, Inc.for the Madonna”., “Pimps for the Paraclete”...Go through all the motions and act like I believe in their rituals....and don’t say a word during the service.
Maybe have one or two compadres sitting in different parts of the church and we’ll meet and pretend we’re from different chapters of the our organizations...and “talk shop” very loudly in front of their kids.
This “church” specifically said they would only hire a openly gay minister when they hired this one. Straight clergy wouldn’t be considered.
And why would a church be having a “pride” celebration given that pride is one of the seven deadly sins?
This alleged incident has the stench of a false fag operation.
