OK, that makes sense. I was fixed on physical disability. But now I must question where are the parents of these children when they are being recruited by the gang thugs ? If I was the parent of a child in that condition they damned sure wouldn’t be anywhere near to that situation.
Very true, but, unfortunately, you can’t watch your kid 24x7. We have an excellent Village Bakery up the road and they hire lots of mentally handicapped young adults and provide them jobs and dignity. But you never know who might befriend one of the workers and take advantage of them. It’s a balancing act between letting your sibling or child out to do as best they can versus over-protecting them.
My handicapped sister works for an excellent company that provides jobs for adults with mental disabilities. We trust the company to do a good job protecting their employees and they’ve done an outstanding job for decades.
