Heart cockles warmed. Sorry, NOT sorry. I wonder if there is any enviro impact. Besides shattered glass and stuff. More in another post about the positive effects of solar.

I watched videos of people in Texas who, in winter, suffered a loss of electricity because of enviroNazis "Green" energy initiatives. They were suffering because of liberal sloth, indolence and stupidity.

Solar. Wind power. EVs. It's all a novelty, but is never going to replace petroleum and nuclear power.

They should make the entire solar farm out of whatever those two remaining panels are made from.

Wonder if it was insured?

How about the 1000’s of gallons of glycophosphate weed control necessary to keep the panels functioning. It will be a toxic waste dump.

Solar has its place. When I lived in Florida, I had solar panels on my roof for my screened in pool. Not electric - water from the filter flowed up to the black rubber panels, heated and returned warmer to the pool. The place for solar is NOT to replace reliable natural gas and oil, or nuclear.

What kind of dumbass builds what is basically a 10 acre glass window in that location? Large hail is practicality a guarantee.

Yah, I laughed. Like the treehugger idiots in Tx who installed windmills that could not withstand winter.

Baseload plants (e.g., dams, coal, gas, nuke, etc.) all have to plan for all sorts of ......... not quite normal events like floods, quakes, etc. But, the bribe-taking morons who salivate over this “sustainable” BS don’t bother.

Only a few places in the US do not have hail storms.

This never seems to happen to coal plants. We should look into coal as a source of energy in the future.

All they need to do is put a clear plexiglass roof over it, then use Roundup to control the weeds underneath. What could possibly go wrong?

Bug question; could they make the roof out of recycled plastic Walmart bags?

Hail happens regularly. It’s a natural phenomenon and can’t be stopped. So solar panels in fields and on roofs will be destroyed regularly. Who pays? The idiot who put them up.

Looks to be a different solar facility. Article says that these were sun-tracking setups. The first damaged solar facility article here on FR appeared to be a non-tracking installation.

I am sure Mother China will be more than happy to sell them new solar panels. At the old price. Just adjusted for inflation and Bidenomics.

Eastern Colorado and Wyoming and western Nebraska are “hail alley”, which is why hail research projects are ongoing there. Uplift from the front range cools water vapor to form hail that then comes down on the plains areas. Anyone should know this would be a bad spot for a solar farm. If they need a clue, stop one of the hail research teams and sk them.
