Republicans Recruiting Mayra Flores to Flip Hispanic Texas Seat

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is recruiting former Rep. Mayra Flores (R-TX) to run for her old seat in Texas’s 34th congressional district.

Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX) defeated Flores last year, and the NRCC has made the 34th congressional seat a prime target in the upcoming elections.

The NRCC shared a poll that found Flores tied with Gonzalez and a memo that said Flores “has already proven she can win, and new polling shows she remains popular.” The memo claimed that the district is one of the better pickup opportunities as Republicans attempt to widen their House Republican majority.

I heard her election in 2022 was in a slightly different district, as redistricting happened after the 2020 census. So her new district was not as friendly as the old district.

She ran in a majority Democratic district but she is an excellent candidate for the Republicans along with others that needs to be recruited by the Republicans

What are the demographics of the new district?

I don’t know the demographics of the new district. I thought it was drawn to be more Democratic and not as friendly politically to a Republican.

What did the NRCC poll show when she lost? Did it show her winning?

It’s exactly the same district in which she lost last November. The version of CD-34 when she WON the special election was different and more amenable to a Republican.

Maybe but he beat her by over 10k votes. Next year, with whatever fresh disasters Biden stumbles into + a recession, maybe it will be different. She’s tremendous

Actually that sounds like something we want to be true versus something that IS true:

Didn’t get enough votes? Not sure why we keep picking candidates voters clearly don’t want. It’s a sickness.

We need to hit ALL the ‘heavy democrat’ tickets hard in the next year.

Showing that they are the party of gay rights and transgender kids.

Over on over and over. Billboards and flyers.
