Yes, two branches of authoritarians will work together.
They will find cross uses for various terms, such as ummah in Islam is “the community”, and literally means the community of believers, but can be accommodated to the Left’s use of “the people”. By cross uses of terms, Islamists will make some “good Muslims” out of some Leftists, and Leftists will accomodate Muslims to the political tenents of Marx.
